Detached gig

I recently purchased a new gig nem from the LFS. It's looked good during much of the day, then shriveled late in the day and at night has detached some. Tonight it is detached and upside down in the sand on the side of the tank. It is shriveled, but not completely deflated. So, do I place it in a new spot or let it move on its own? My only concern with leaving it is there is very little light in the area it's headed for. Thanks.

I think light is the least of your concerns at this point. Can you provide photos so we can see what condition it's in?

Definitely move to a QT tank as ryannterror mentioned.

Here's some photos from around noon today. Sorry for the poor quality, not the best location to get a good look at it.

Checked before work today and it appeared to be expanded, but upside down in the sand and detached, sitting next to the rock. It was expanded and looking decent yesterday. I will try to get more pics tonight when I get home and lights are on.

i had the same with my gig, inflated, not attaching properly and falling over upside down. I wanted to wait and see what happens as I was sure it was ok, just needed a bit of time to settle in the tank..
It was a mix of lack of experience and hoping for the best.
I think it is best follow the advice and get him treated asap.

If his foot isn't attached, he's getting sick. That's exactly what my blue gig did.

He was still fully inflated, but his foot got limp and he couldn't hold himself down with my powerheads.

As mentioned above...get him in treatment tank ASAP. Once a gig goes down it's very hard to bring them back. If I were you, I would run the antibiotics out for 2 weeks.

I think that stopping antibiotic therapy early can cause major issues later. Mine recent gig that died was treated for about 7 days twice and IMO it wasn't long enough. I should have treated longer.

Good luck with him.
