I took my daughter to the Zoo yesterday, so i brought along the camera.

I think I got a few really nice shots, considering the lens what far from ideal.

all were taken with POS Nikon 18-200 VR.

Its great if you only can have one lens with you, and needs a wide and telephoto, but its not very sharp compared to the pro glass 70-200 VR...

She looks like she was having FUN :). Nice images. I might have cropped the Peacock a little differently to accentute the colors and bird. Some of the other elements in the image draw me away from that.

Hope you don't mind

I never mind constructive criticism. Thats the only way we get better.

I agree, much better cropped tighter.

thanks very much

you're welcome. That shot of your dtr just makes me smile. She looks like she is having a blast and soooo much fun. That's one for the mantel for sure :).

beautiful shots Junior!
and well done on the crop there Louis- I really like how that changes the feel of the image.

Junior- like everyone has mentioned, the shot of your daughter is excellent. I think its cool you included it- she must love having a pops who is into animals AND photography! (if you are interested in my thoughts- clone stamping those few stray hairs would be worthwhile)

I agree that would improve the shot a lot. Thats an area I have to do some practicing on, as I can never seem to get a natural look. Its always obvious when i do it.

your welcome.
a few tips that I was given from some studio photographers: zoom in way further than you would be inclined to. this will allow you to edit a minimum amount of data, making your changes less noticeable.

also, sample your clone from a nearby area, but change up the location of sample anchor and try to duplicate the nearby color and light gradations.

I also find that mulitple "stamps" with a brush at like 90% opacity helps soften it and blend it better.

Good touchup tips!

I am partial to the shot of the giraffe with its tongue up its nose. My brother can do that!
