First TBS Shipment this Saturday

First TBS Shipment this Saturday

I just got word from Richard that the rock and sand is booked for a trip to Seattle this Saturday! Arriving 9:40pm (only direct flight to SEA).

Anyone want to join me for a midnight aquascaping party? I'll bring the PBR or a fine box wine, if that is your thing :celeb3:

I got the first shipment of my package order from TBS. As always, the rock was amazing, loaded with sponges, tunicates and various other critters. Everything was packed well and in perfect condition. If you are planning live rock for your next tank, you can't go wrong with TBS. It beats all the other stuff I've seen that is labeled "Live".

I know there are a few threads out there describing how the package works, so I'll tell the rest of the story with pictures. If you want details, let me know.

Some Life on the rocks ...

Sponges and tunicates

A baby pincushion urchin on the front glass

A larger pincushion urchin gathering some rubble from the back of the tank

Pistol Shrimp caught cruising along the glass after lights out

Tampa Bay Saltwater - they are a sponsor here. This is the 3rd time I've ordered their Live rock and couldn't be happier with the quality of the rock, sand and all the life. Gives you an instant reef. Sure there will be some crabs that I will remove, but the good far outweighs the bad for me.

Looking good! I ordered some WAVs too which should be coming in early next week hopefully. What kind of program are you running them on?

The WAVs are still a work in progress... I have them both on the back wall. I more or less went with the default program and adjusted the flow rates down.

Even at this, over the course of a single day, in a few spots, the sand gets blown down to the glass, so I am still working on the best orientation and flow rates. Just waiting on the final shipment today, when my aquascaping will be complete and I can settle on a flow pattern that works best.

Wow only 50% max these must have some serious flow. I may only need to run 45-50 on my 150. I've read that Neptune recommends to have them on the back wall vs the "traditional" side mount that we are used to doing to get the bounce off the front pane to create a more erratic flow. Do you feel like it's more random flow this way? I may have missed it but whats your stocking plan for your tank.

The Display Tank room 10x12 and carpeted. We are going to pull up the carpet and lay down tile in the whole room which will be more water and humidity friendly and it will look good in this room. No need to keep the carpet.
