DI resins - no insturctions

do I just turn the water to the filter off and unscrew the DI containers and refill them?


should I run some water through before I use it?

Definitely shut off the water supply first. Then, take out the DI cartridge and empty contents, rinse with freshwater, then add new resin. I usually run the unit for about 5-10 minutes after changing out the resins.

How long do you run a new unit before using the water? My new one is at home waiting for me

About the same...5-10 minutes. The first few minutes there is discolored water from the resin coming out. Charles at Spectrapure told me to run it for about 5-10 minutes initially to wash out the resin.
