Diamond Goby aggressive??

Hi. Wondering if Diamond Gobys are on the aggressive side fish.

in my 150 is a 4" purple tang, 3" borb anthias, 3" male flame wrasse and they've been together for about 2 months without problem. flame wrasse introduced last.

last Wed I put a 3" Diamond Goby from QT to DT. went on a trip after. a week later, my flame wrasse is completely beat up. tails and fins ripped. looks bad.. breathing rapidly. I immediately took it out to QT.

I know the diamond goby slept around the flame wrasse during first night of introduction. Any reason to believe he's the culprit?

or could it be the purple tang? the PT is the boss of tank but I don't see any tail chasing for the past 2 months.

My bet is on PT. I've owned many diamond tails and never once have I seen them be aggressive. Not even towards other gobies, and I've kept them with many

thanks guys.. I think it could be the PT too but he's so mellow when I'm around. All my other fish swim together daily with 0 aggression. The wrasse was bold enough to chase food around the tang during feeding.

I have tons of snails. all kinds of them.. no crabs/shrimps/hermits. The tank is only 4 months old so I'm pretty certain no other critters were introduced. tank cycled from 100% dry rocks

sucks that everything bad in this hobby happens the few days you are gone. always.. haha

The only time my diamond was aggressive was when my damsel started beating up on other fish. The diamond would come to their rescue and nip at the damsel. Since then I have removed the damsel and all is peaceful. Something else is nipping...PT likely culprit.

yup. it was the PT.. I stayed home all weekend to monitor the tank. He bite my borb...

I guess the PT is going to a smaller 100gallon.. he will be by himself to reflect on his behaviors until I find a suitable buyer

thanks all!
