Diamond Goby

I had read that the Diamond - Orage Spotted Goby is an excellent sand sifter. I have one & it seems to be an open water swimmer majority of the time. Also, it chases the fish around in the open water. Anybody else notice this characteristic in their Diamond Goby?

Are you sure its a diamond goby?
Mine will swim in open water occasionally but not often. More often when there's food to catch or to scan over rocks to sift food from.
I did notice however that when he gets territorial he will sometimes chase the fish and swim up to do this. Otherwise he's pretty much bound to the sand

Are you sure its an orange spot and not a diamond? I mistakenly bought a blue spotted diamond in the place of an orange spot once...my sailfin blenny was not happy at all, and this thing was definitely more open water than my orange spot is.

Like laf-reef, I have had several Diamond Gobies. For the most part, I witnessed very little open water swimming. Mine were bottom huggers that didn't chase other fish. My last one, however, was chased by the lawnmower blenny.

I agree with the others, it sure sounds like you have an Orange-Spot.
