Diamond Goby

I just recently bought a diamond goby for my 55 gallon SW tank. He is doing fine and is accepting all types of food. The only problem is I am pretty sure he eat one of my cleaner shrimp. the people at the LFS think this is crazy, but I don't.

Any thoughts?

co-Inhabitants: Coral beauty, false perc, hippo tang(small), 2-watchmen goby's, green brittle, bi-color blenny.

Seems like alot, but the two main fish never seem to grow the tang and the single perc. they were bought as tiny-tiny fish and have gotten just a little bit bigger.

I have had the tang for 1 year and the perc for two and a half years.

They will eat shrimp, remember the rule of marine aquariums if an animal can fit into another animals mouth, it will.

I have a diamond goby with 2 cleaner and 2 peppermint shrimp. They have been in a 110 gallon for about 6 months with no one disappearing.

ya i also think that its a little weird that he'd eat it. i would go with the rule on this if you had added the shrimp after the diamond goby but since the shrimp was in there already it seems a bit weird. check your iodide levels, its a possiblility that he died while molting.

I didn't actually see the goby eat him, but I was right by the tank and I looked down and seen the shrimps head floating right by the goby's cave.

Oh well, its just 20 more bucks.I was just wondering if anyone else had any of the same problems.

Sound like a very exspensive meal. If you have no problems about feeding your goby a 20 dollar shirmp, your girlfriend must love it when you take her out to dinner.
