Rocket Season - I've been in you shoes a few times. Best thing to do honestly IMO, if the tank starts to become a hassle and more of a chore to have then an enjoyment, take it easy for a while. Check what's causing this bloom. First knock down your lighting on your halides to 6 hours, and use your actinics for the rest to make a 12 hour light period. If you have lunars only use them for an hour sunrise, hour sunset just to ease into a night transition. Then try to get the algae to slow down growth as much as possible. Once you do this, get rid of all the stuff. No algae on rocks, substrate, anything. Scrub as much as you can with a toothbrush, take whatever rock you can out and do into decently warm saltwater. If not do it in the tank with the filter at high blast and have a net handy. After you get everything all cleaned out do a small water change and change your filter media. Not all just a good amount, make sure you change your carbon. Give that 2-3 days with it all clean, then do a large water change, about 10-15 gallons. After that you should be ok for the most part. I did this with my tank the only thing i have now is a small amount of i guess brown slime algae growing on the substrate which i don't know from water circulation or the substrate not being turned enough.
