My tank still amazes me.

My Blue Milli extended its polyps for the first time the other night, and so did my Digitada.

I'm ordering another Blue+ bulb to replace one of the suns...

Alright, I went to the LFS to pick up a test kit and some B-Ionic....

Someone know where this story is going?

I came home with an amazing 5 inch wild Crocea. Actually it's probably pushing 6...this thing is huge! So cool...

Hopefully, I'll have some pics up soon...the colors are truly outrageous.

My new Crocea opened right up in the tank, and its mantle was completely extended within minutes of throwing on the actinics. The LFS kindly gave me a piece of flattened LR from one of their sumps for me to position the clam on the sand bed. I actually saw a bit of its bysal thread pushing out toward the rock already...yummy.

I'm glad I just didn't toss in the B-Ionic. I tested the tank and my Calcium was already 500ppm. Happy reefing....:dance:

Sounds like things are back on track John! After my algae assault, I will begin adding things at John speed. I may see you at the CTARS meeting, I'm unsure if I can go, so we can talk then.

With the Blue+ on this clam is an electric blue, and with all the lights on its an electric purple. This is the best I can do at showing the difference- it is MUCH more pronounced in person:

Here's some before and after shots of my Montipora Mollis. The first shot is before the bleaching, and the second shot is aprox. 10 days growth after having been 100% bleached for almost two weeks:

I was looking for a FTS. I just read the thread and was wondering how things are coming along after the tragedies.
I am in the planning stages of a new reef and I was going with a 29g so I could cram it full of sps but after looking at yours im gonna go with the 40. And the sump I want is bigger than a 29 so the stand would have looked awkward. I know its late but sorry bout your losses. I love the dwarf angels. Im dreaming of a coral beauty or an argi and my tank isnt even put together. Keep up the good work.

Sufficed to say the tank really does look good. I'll have more updates soon. Hopefully, I'll also have pics of the updated light configuration compared with the old.

I changed out my T5s the other night, so here's a little comparison:

Here's a picture where you can see the "bridge" I made for my Crocea.
The excurrent siphon end of the mantle was 2-2.5 inches from the T5s and the incurrent siphon end was about 5-5.5 inches away.

He was fine for quite awhile, but I found him face down in the sand the next morning still attached to his LR rubble. I'm trying to assess whether this was wiggle/cough loosening from the T5 heat annoying him, my angel knocking him over, or just super glue failure with the weight of the clam pointing downwards. And oh yeah...did I mention my $#!@#@! angel? Leaves the Maxima alone....DIVEBOMBS the Crocea...*sigh* He gets another few days....then he gets a new home.

Some clams prefer to be down on the substrate. Mine has jumped numerous times.
