Diatom bloom

Can someone tell me how many diatom blooms I should expect in my first year? I seem to be having a diatom bloom every few weeks. My tank is now 3 months old. As soon as ones over another begins in a few weeks and I get algae all over again.

issues that cause instability in a new system can include... too long of a light cycle, the leaching of phosphates from dry rock and over feeding fish/corals will all prolong your issues.
a gfo reactor was a big help in my system to rid of my initial diatoms and algae and the cuc seems to be winning the war on what remains.

Diatoms tend to come with poorly filtered water. Are you doing a water change every few weeks with rodi that isn't 0 tds? That will feed them the silica they need. So will new rocks and sand, and not removing dead diatoms before they can rot and feed the next batch.
3 months isn't that long at all, they'll prolly wear themselves out in another month or so if you're doing the rest of it right.
