brownish, slightly green
more like dirt.

Thanks,

Geee

just switched out two ac 70(400gph) for two Koralia #4
(1200gph).

would like to know what they are so i can
learn how to battle it

hard to tell which it is from the pic.

Better flow, nutrient control, and a turkey baster to the sand prior to water changes will all help, regardless of which it is.

By the location and the apearance that might typically be a kind of Cyano or possibly dinoflagelates although I lean toward Cyanobacteria..
Does it has bubbles?
Does it forms a film?
When syphoning does it comes out easy?

no not any bubbles it reminds me of tumbleweeds though.
it covered all the sand so i changed powerheads yesterday to increase
flow. i now have 3240gph of flow as opposed to 1850gph.

I manually removed it from the sand but didnt get it all
and now it seems to have been blown on the lr.
i also noticed after testing my tank that my ph level has
dropped to 7.8 from 8.2 yesterday.

Will the ph eventually rise again on its own?

anybody familiar with tumble weed type algae or ? ?

Yes, insure your skimmer is operating properly and that your alkalinity is at the proper level
