Diatoms to outcompete Cyano

I've read the articles and am going to give it a shot. I've got cyano in my fuge and lagoon tank, and I'm tired of it. My snails dont eat it, it clogs my sand bed, regular siphoning is only a short term solution, it grows so fast that my macros, and seagrasses cant compete. The actual benefits of Diatoms seem great, so once my sodium silicate shows up I'll be dosing silicates. Anyone else wanna post some experience with silicate dosing?
