So I have a quick, and probably crazy idea, but I thought I would see if it made any sense.
Why not setup a system to support diatom growth, which would then be a good source of live natural food for non-photosynthetic corals. I know some people already add Sodium Silicate so I was wondering if anyone has tried to add higher levels of silicate to promote the growth of diatoms for feeding. Also, I've heard somewhere that diatoms are able to metabolize bees-wax so I've been thinking about trying to add that as a carbon source to feed diatoms and give them the edge versus bacteria or other algaes.
Any input is welcome. Thanks
