Quick question: How long does it take for diatoms to go away when you first set up a tank?

Varies from tank to tank, it only took around 4 days for the diatom bloom to pass in my 14g.

I've had them go from a week to about 3 weeks. It all just depends. Keep up on your regular maintenance and they will pass

Mine just finished a day agoin my 34g nano which lasted 4 days

first i feel you pain i hate them...i did 3 or 4 20% water changes on my 75g and well i also added a UV and they were gone in a week.
