Did everyone get their turkey?

Nice pics. We are heading out tomorrow morning. We hunt down by Leon in South Central Iowa. I'm stoked. I got skunked last year, but for about 5 years before that, I've taken one home every year. I really hope to get one this year. The farmer that lives there said they are hanging out in the normal spots so things should be good. I'll post some pics if I get them.

Several years ago, I had a hen turkey almost step on my boot when she walked by. Guess I was doing a good job of sitting still. It always freaks me out when something is walking that close behind you and you can't turn to look to see what it is.

As long as we're telling hunting stories. I have a real good friend I was deer hunting with. (bow season) we were both in stands and in comes a real nice buck 8 point with huge spread. It was just starting to get dark out. He was being as still as he could and heard something above him. He didn't want to move and he figured it was just a squirrel. The buck ended up not getting in range and walked off and when he looked up there was a nice fat raccoon about a foot above his head coming down the tree. He just about crapped himself!

Make sure you post pics if you get something. One of these years I'll get into turkey hunting. I always see them down south when I go deer hunting. I guess I'll end up going down there to get one if I ever go.
