Did I get a good deal on my camera

Today I picked up a Nikon D40 with the 18-55 lens and a brand new Sigma 70-300mm micro lens for 540.00

Is the 18-55 a VR or non-VR lens? The non-VR model D40 kit and the Sigma lens from B&H will bet about $650. The D40 is a very good camera and should give you lots of opportunities for take great photos.

so for 540 .oo for everything wasnt to bad then I guess

Yeah. You did alright. That Sigma is nothing to write home about but for a start lens it'll do fine.
