Did I get duped?

First off, I'm moderately new to reefing. I originally had a 2 percula clowns in my tank, one I had to get rid of because it was getting bullied by the other. I was looking at my LFS and found this beautiful black and white clown that I wanted. I asked if the two would be compatible, and she said that it shouldn't be an issue. I put the fish together and the black and white clown was relentlessly attacked. I called the LFS. So, not trusting that LFS anymore, I drove a few miles extra for some advice. I was told that I could put an ocellaris into the mix and it should settle things down. I went ahead and took their advice. About 40 minutes after I acclimated the ocellaris, the lights were out for the night. I have not had a chance to see how the fish are doing today.

Did I make a mistake with these clowns? I would like to keep the black and white clown and at least 1 more. Is there a combination that I would have luck with?

Anemonefish are VERY territorial. If you are going to add them at different times, size matters.

Always make sure that the newer fish is smaller. even then, you may have problems with conspecific anemonefish.

That is true. About a year ago, had a pair of ocelaris clowns. male and female. coulkd not separate them. the two always together. I guess the male had got sick or something but the female started picking on him a little more than norma. he died a few days later. I went to my LFS and asked them if I could replace the male, they said as long as I go with a small one so we know it is a male for sure. As soon as I released it, the female was chasing him throughout the whole tank, no safe place for him to hide. I returned him and gave the female away. Bought a new pair shortly after. Be careful, It is not fun to see the female put the little male through hell.

What a weekend so far! Got my new sump a halide upgrade got my first anemone traded me black and white for a pretty pair of onyx perculas! To top it off we decided that the new light was dumb looking on a 55 so I was given the ok to buy a new a 90 gallon setup! For those of you that read me first post, the person that gave me permission to get the new setup just had a very expensive wedding veil hacked apart by yours truly! Love this girl!!!
