its worth what you think its worth. it doesnt matter if it was worth 5.00 and u paid 1000.00 for it if you liked it enough to pay 1000.00 then thats what its worth to you

with that said it is very hard to find yellows

That ric would be priced like 8 to 12 bucks at the coral store I got some of my rics from. I do think it looks really nice, but not $30 nice in the OP's case.

Some people paying 15+ per head for common rics need to shop around a little more for better prices. And you can't justify paying a premium price locally on something basing it on what you would have paid in shipping charges online, you aren't buying online, it doesn't apply.

GF3: Not everyone lives in Steamwood, IL where premium rics seem to be so plentiful and inexpensive. If your only other alternative (the OP didn't mention any LFS in Northern Wisconsin) is ordering online, then you do have to consider the shipping to determine where you can get the best deal (or if you got ripped off).

If a local seller is selling a yellow ric for $30 (highway robbery in Steamwood) and it costs you $15 to buy from an on-line vendor (or someone in Steamwood) plus $30 dollars shipping (for a total of $45), then the local price is a good deal. You just considered shipping! So unless you really know his options (local verus on-line) and the quality of the rics he bought, you cannot truely state that he needs to "shop around".

Excuse me Rudolph, but I'm confused why you feel the need to be taking my posts so personal and apparently getting so bent out of shape over them that you are compelled to speak so combative over the Ricordea market in the Chicagoland area, and to justify and rationalize overpaying for mushrooms with illogical use of shipping charges and seemingly pointless mathematics.

There are numerous online vendors with fantastic Ricordea selections and reasonable shipping prices, perhaps you just haven't spent enough time looking them up, instead spending your time trying to start pointless arguments on an Internet reef forum. I think you need to spend some more time relaxing in front of your tank full of overpriced livestock and take a few deep breaths, you'll be a lot happier afterwards.

You know what thou, yea, the OP did in fact pay $15 for some common orange/blue rics, $30 for a yellow, and got a green one for free. Is he wrong, heck no, were those prices a bit unreasonable, heck yea. I dont feel any remorse or regret in admitting that in MY OPINION he overpayed "financially" with his purchase. If he is happy with his purchase then its justified emotionally. I really dont see a need to "get over myself" because the almighty RUDOLPH says so.

So RUDOLPH, care to make some huge wall of text mathematic explanation how the OP isnt overpaying and how his LOCAL purchase should be justified based on what he would have paid for shipping on the stuff he bought that he DIDNT need to have shipped? LOL, cry me another river RUDOLPH.
