Did I harm my rock?

I recently moved and had brought my live rock with me(120lbs).Before I moved I had the tank set up for 3 months.Cycling went fine and I had inverts, soft corals and lps corals thriving.Upon moving I put the rock in rubbermaid trash cans submerged in tank water, and brought it along. It was 13 days before I could get things back up and running. The rock has been in the tank for over a week and there are no sign of any ammonia, nitrates or nitrites. The ph is 7.8.I have not checked any other levels. There is green filament type algae grwoing on the rock now too.I introduced a few snails and hermits last night and they were fine today. The rock did'nt even smell that bad after the move either.I am only worried that I might have some ill long term lasting effects down the road.Or,on the other hand,I killed off everything on the rock and there was nothing left to cause a cycle.Opinions?

I would not still consider this live rock at this point. Use caution when adding in new fish. seven days would be a max for rock to be out of an aquarium. All rock is shipped dry. It may need more time to be reseeded. Let us know how it goes.

You may want to just let it run for a while in darkness or low light, skim like heck and do water changes. Monitor your levels and adjust what you can.

Yeah,I was guessing it probably was not too much "live" anymore either.I am going to get a few more pieces here locally to help with the seeding process.I added some live sand from a friend's tank too. It's going to be interesting to see what happens, thanks!

you moved the rocks submerged in water though right? Im not a chemist but would the chemistry of the water go all out of wack in 13 days of just LR in it??? i guess the temperature was much colder....I would definetly take caution and take it very slow however Im pretty sure your rock will be just fine....keep monitoring the ammonia and nitrite.....if anything died on the rock it will start producing lots of ammonia
