Did my anenome split?

This happened to me last week. It might sound ackward because I copied it from another fourm I posted it in last week so I did'nt have to retype everything and copy the image codes. It didn't get many responses on the other site so hopefully the people here can help

I have an anemone that made his home in a tunnel. From one side you can see the tenticles and the other side the foot. I rearranged the rock work in my tank last night. In the morning both sides of the tunnel has tentacles comming out of it. I can't tell if it's one anemone or two. It's a green bubble tip.

Today I rearranged the rocks and it happened again. I still haven't found the one from the first split. Did anyone ever see an anenome go into the rock work like this? Is it defently a split?

Thanks for your help.

That is a very odd place for a BTA if it is only one. If you gently poke or touch one of them it should retract. If you can see the side all the way around the tentacles than you have a split. If you can't quite see the side all the way around then it is probably still one anemone. Either way, interested to see what it turns out to be.

Is there actually a hole on that rock all the way through?

Can you see all the way around it to see the foot?

Does sound like a split, if so.

I've also seen one spread through a tunnel to look like two. I would target feed one side and see if it all contracts. If it does then you most likely have one anemone. That might also encourage it to come out on only the one side of the tunnel. It could use some target feeding anyway since its bleached.

I think it is only one, unless it's two which hang out close to each other. The tunnel goes all the way through. I caught him doing it again. The anenome looks like it's getting huge and sometimes it looks like it has two mouths.

Does anyone else think it looks bleached? I have been feeding him pellets every day now and krill every few days.

The tentacles in the mouth area have been spreading apart more . Does this mean anything?

I also tried to touch it and see if all the tenticles retract. It hard to see the back. I will take a video maybe other people can see something I am missing.

It's most definately bleached but it looks good otherwise. Just keep feeding it every other day and it will regain its color. Small pieces and I would use human-grade fresh/frozen seafood. Krill is good if it will take it. I feed mine freeze dried krill, they used to love it but prefer scallop. As a side note, you do know you have aiptasia in your tank, right? I would work to get rid of that ASAP because it will take over if you give it a chance.

I just gave the aneome to my friend. It colored up a lot and continued his tunnel cruzing in the year I had him. 90% of the time he will be half on one side half on the other,
