Did my maze brain survive?

So I sold all my LPS and softies back in August. I pulled my maze brain off its rock and it had grown onto it unbeknownst to me and left some part of it on the rock. This rock sat in a bin with water for a few days until my tank restart was complete. Now three months later it appears it is growing. Will it build its own skeleton again?

I'm fighting Green Star Polyps and have my rocks covered in zoanthids that I didn't add to the tank. They came in on the liverock, which had sat in an open bucket with about 0.5" of water in the bottom of it, for a month. I saw the little flesh and assumed it was dead, and just leftover flesh. 6 months later, I have zoos and GSP everywhere. I've gone in and tried to scrape the GSP off, but I see it growing back in tiny bits, just like I see in your picture towards the top.

It's not at all surprising that after a few days out of water, but kept moist, that some of these corals survived. Free coral!

Oh, and yes, if you provide it with calcium and other nutrients, it will eventually grow back over the rock (though I wouldn't expect it to grow the size of the rock with calcium deposition any time soon, maybe long after it's taken over the entire rock).
