I got my first Ricordea Yuma back in Early april. The guy I got it from had it under 2 96w PC's in 46 bow front. I put it in my 110G under 4 110 Vhos

It looked like this when I got it:

At the beginning of May it was a very bright light purple and you could still see the bright green mouth:

Now it is a darker purple and much bigger but the bright green mouth is gone:

Does anyone else have any before and after pics of their rics changing colors

weird, at a guess I'd say it's getting too little light, how long was it in the original guy's tank for?

He had it in his tank for a few years and it had multiplied many times. It seemed to be very healthy in his tank and it is reproducing in my tank as well.

He had it near the top of a 46 bow front under 2 96W pc's
I have it near the bottom of my 110G under 4 110W vho's maybe I'll try moving one of the small ones up near the top and see how it does.

I would say it is getting too much light! Yumas will dull/brown out if they are in too much light. Mine do much better if they are in my sump under PC or shaded. JMHO and good luck!

It looks like it's starting to split :) Hopefully it won't take too long.

after it does I will move a piece into the shade and the other one higher up and see what happens.
