Difference between Pacific and Atlantic Yellow Tangs

Is there any real difference between the two?

I didn't kow there was a true Atlantic Yellow Tang. If there is, it's an invasive species just like the (now common) lionfish.

Actually, there is a tang from the Caribbean that is yellow: The juvenile form of the Caribbean Blue Tang.

It is by no means the same as the Yellow Tang which mostly come from Hawaii.

Remember, not all the fish for sale are the adult forms/colors. Angels are especially know for changing appearance as they mature.

Sometimes juvenile Atlantic blue tangs are sold as an Atlantic yellow tang. These fish get larger and more aggressive than a true yellow tang.

Alright, I know my LFS showed on facebook they had Atlantic Yellow Tangs coming in today, and I wasn't sure what the difference was between them and Pacific ones. Thanks!

yea the blue Atlantic ones start out yellow as juvy's
