Difficult Fish - How difficult? Personal experiences?

But minus the last two fish on the list have you had good experiences with the butterfly species I have listed? Are there any you would recommend above them?

Also, one last question, have you ever kept a tang with butterflies like these? I have heard they can be aggressive because of the similar body shape.

Lattice BF: Only experience is from back in the day when I worked at a LFS. They were hardy.

Kleins BF: No personal experience. I don't find them attractive :o I hear they are VERY hardy.

Pearlscale BF: Hardy once eating. I prefer paucifasciatus or madagaskariensis, from a looks standpoint.

I have a punctatofasciatus/pelewensis hybrid that I find to be very hardy. I don't have experiences with the individual species.

I personally don't like mixing tangs with butterflies.

Ok, thanks, good to know. Kleins is also my least favorite lookswise, but I plan to get one for one of my current smaller tanks because they are so hardy first to get a little experience with BFs before getting the other species for the big tank. Also, I have to say it is the only of the species, besides CBB, that I have ever seen in person at my LFS, and I was blown away how much prettier it looked in person than in pictures. The subtlety of the colors really comes out.

the toughest one for me so far has to be the Regal angel.

1) getting a healthy specimen willing to eat
(I don't know why they don't usually come in top condition)

2) flight over fight when competing food with Tangs and other angelfish.

i think i can start a thread saying "Regal angel is a piece of cake" if my well rocked mature tank has this only fish, but that's not the case.

my journey with this one will be considered lucky for many. 2 months so far, started with a 5" adult willing to eat pellets in the first week. but there are two problems for me.

1) he doesn't eat a lot at one time vs. others eats like there is no tomorrow.
2) he backs off when other aggressive tank mates comes over for feeding

i have to target feed him chopped shrimp 2-3 times everyday just to make sure he is getting enough to eat. maybe and just maybe giving time the situation will improve.
