Digital Aquatics Archon Owners Thread

Is there a way to set an alarm to go off if an output has been on for a specific amount of time? I had a situation while I was gone this week where my ATO pump went on the fritz. Long story short, I noticed a drop in pH and traced it back to a malfunctioning pump. I have kalkwasser in my ATO. I'm wondering if there is some way to create an alarm that will alert me if the ATO has been running for say, 10 min straight. Then if the level on the switches doesn't change, i know I've got an issue?

It was really nice though to be able to shut it all down from Sacramento so I wouldn't burn up my return pump.

Edit: FWIW there was a webpage update on mine today. Worked just fine.

Same issues with the password. Here is what I did

1. I downloaded the new files
2. Formatted the memory stick and copied the new files to it.
3. Put the stick in the Archon
4. Plug in the power cord
5. Waited till the orange light came on
6. Held the reset button for 10 seconds
7. Then connected to the Archon network
8. went to 192.168.10.1
Then it asks for a login an password and nothing happens.

I do have one question though. When you hold the reset but is there some kind of awknowledgment or light flash to know it happened. I beginning to think this reset button is kind of sketchy

After you did that did you get a email with you new IP?

The Archon wifi is only for the initial setup page. Once you enter your network setup information and email address the 192.168.10.1 Archon wifi will go away and you will have to go throuh your network to access it. It should email you an IP address.

I'm by far an Archon guru, but I don't think there's a way to trigger an alarm for something running too long. That would be a great idea, though!

On my system, I have my ATO run on a timer once triggered by the float switch. If there's a leak in the system and the top off water is somehow going overboard, it'll only do a little bit every two hours. By that time, hopefully, someone will notice (I plan on a water detector inside my new cabinet). Also, if the pH increases to a trigger point (I have Kalk in my ATO), it'll trigger an alarm, cutting power to the pump and sending me a text. And if that's not enough, I have another float switch higher up in the sump to trigger another alarm and cut power to the ATO. Redundancies on top of redundancies, right??

Programming logic:
1- Water evap triggers the float switch,
2- Archon starts the ATO pump which runs for 3 minutes (your time may vary, just enough time to trigger your float switch).
3- Timer prevents ATO pump from coming back on for 2 hours.

Here are my Output and System>Alarms pages:

Edit: I just reread your post and it sounds like your ATO pump never came on, or wasn't pumping sufficiently enough to refill your sump. A solution for that might be to have a float switch low in the sump to trigger an alarm to let you know your top off isn't topping off...

Puckett,

the accesslist.txt file is located in the www/db folder.

now, since it is not allowing you to login still, that tells me you either cannot type or something else is wrong. since you are here, rule out #1. LOL. Here are the steps to see if you can get it running:

1. Are you using Firefox or safari? these are the best browsers to use
2. Pull the drive and insert into your PC. see if it needs to be checked for errors. when drive has errors, it will lock files.
3. if you still are locked out, then it may be time to load a clean set of files onto the drive and go from there.

To get a new clean set of files go to http://www.digitalaquatics.com/archon/downloads/full-file-systems/. this is a full set of retail files. (you will need to update these through the archon once you get into it.

download those files and extract the zip. Format the drive and then copy the file set onto the drive.

you may need to do this as we dont know what version of the hardware or software you are on since you stated it was used. sort of like a factory reset here.

Before doing this, be sure to hold the reset button down for 10 seconds to make sure it clears out the old password and wifi files. If you are getting the Archon SSID then it should be operating properly. we just need to get this pesky password deal done.

Ok Im in! I went and bought another thumb drive and that worked.
Ttthanks for all the help. Im sure ill be back for more :headwally:

Ok now Im trying to hook up a PB4. At first it didnt show, then I did that interupted update thing. Now it shows on the output tab but it says detached and the light is blinking on the pb4.

LOL - yes it was a 'pump didn't come on error.' I actually noticed it first with a drop in pH since I also run kalk in my top off. I've got mine set up on the same high sump alarms as you, 2 switches and a pH alarm. I did have a timer set up on it, but I remember deleting it while doing something at one point, and never put it back on.

The ATO error ended up actually being an ID-10-T error. I had a skimmer overflow the day before (also an ID-10-T/pre-caffeinated error) and had pulled the plug on the ATO. Then I plugged it back into the PC4 in the wrong outlet because I've got an extra outlet on that one. BRILLIANT! On the plus side, everything lived through my stupidity.

Alright back at it again. Archon is online, it see the itemp probe and PB4. I attempted to program the heater per the directions in the manual but when I hit save, its not saving what I typed in. I tried searching the forums but have had no luck.
