dimmer for an icecap 660?

why is the cheapest dimmer for the icecap 660 more expensive than the ballast itself?

i had a dimmer for my 660 ballast. they dont work all that well imo. it went on too fast as well as when it would go off it was too fast. also your 660 ballast has to be made after a certian date to even work with a dimmer. ice cap will help with this and should upgrade the fix for free on the one you have if not already.
