Disappearing????

I have noticed over the past week or two that our polyps are disappearing. The levels are good. Our temp is up a bit in the 80's. I have searched and searched for pests but can not find any. We have three tangs and a few damsels in the tank. It is only our polyps that are are being affected. What can it be???

There is a yellow, vlaminji, and unicorn tang. Also a couple of peppermint shrimp that I forgot to mention.

I've heard unicorn tangs are not reefsafe as they will eat invertebrates. I'm assuming these invertebrates consist sessile invertebrates. I've never known a tang to go after a shrimp.

Peppermint shrimp are known to eat coral too.

You have any emerald crabs?

You could also have a hitch-hiker crab. I had one bigger than a quarter in my 15 gallon tank and didn't know it.

Peps are more irrators than anything compared to Camelbacks which are sometimes mistaken as a peppermint. camelbacks are NOT reefsafe and WILL eat corals.

I don't trust TANGS btw.
