I have been in contact with Tonya regarding club rental equipment. She tells me we have 4 glass clamps available. Last I knew the club had more than 2 sets of clamps but whatever.

Less than 3 hours later she no longer has these clamps available to me she loaned them out to a mystery person. I have asked repeatedly who had the clamps and have not gotten an answer.

Now here is the real kick to the face. I'm told by Tonya I'm not a payed member of the club........... I payed my dues at the January membership drive meeting in person. I received 2 drawing prizes and some fish food in the raffle.

I receive the monthly club letter to my email address and notifications about club affairs but some how my name is missing for being a paid member.

I have been a member of this club for 6 years , my work doesn't allow me to be as active as some. So I don't make all the meetings but I don't see how this should reflect on whether or not I can use the benefits of the clubs equipment which I helped pay for.

Obviously someone is dropping the ball on keeping clear records regarding membership and the clubs equipment. I know you guys don't get payed for these positions and respect all the work you do for free.

Then again if I'm no longer welcome to use the equipment I helped pay for then this obviously isn't the club I want to be associated with.

Brian, shortly after the membership drive meeting in January there were not one, not 2, but 3 different threads started on this forum asking, begging, pleading, with members to contact the leadership team to verify membership status.

Yes, there was a glitch in the membership records. They disappeared for some time and no one claimed to have them, know where they were or who was paid and who wasn't. Basically it would have been a freebie for a non paid person to claim membership and get it. Maybe some did, I don't know. I know for the 2 different threads that I personally started, not one single person replied to me.

Finally, the leadership team was under the impression that the records had been recovered, 2012 name badges had been printed and everyone had been accounted for. Had you responded to any of the above mentioned threads, or let anyone know that you had not received a name badge, this could have been avoided.

To my knowledge there has never been a specific "record" of what equipment is available or who currently has it. To make the statement about how many sets are available or "whatever" is uncalled for. Did you personally buy any of the clamps? Did you ever personally use more than the 2 sets that are claimed?

I do know, for a fact, that there has been another member interested in borrowing the clamps. There is a very real possibility that they have been loaned elsewhere. As far as I'm concerned, you have no "need to know" who the mystery person may be. This just leads to you contacting them, borrowing from them, and the club loses track once again of who has what.

Requests have repeatedly been made for someone to be equipment manager for the club, yet no one has stepped up. The leadership team has discussed several options as to how it would be best to "loan" club equipment out, but I don't believe a final decision has yet been reached. It was a topic up for discussion at the last meeting, but there was such a small turnout that it was tabled.

It appears to me that you have received well more than your membership dues back already so far this year. That frag itself would likely cost at least as much as the $25.00 membership fee, and that is not taking into account the other items that you mentioned. Availability to club equipment is a perk, not an automatic right, of club membership, but only for members. COMAS does not receive a copy of deposited checks. It is a fee we felt could be better spent elsewhere. If you paid cash and did not get a receipt, then who is to blame?

I'm sure, had the energy you expended in writing the post and taking pictures been spent in speaking with Tonya, or finding your cancelled check, something could have been worked out. What, exactly, did you expect your rant to help? You are correct, we are all doing this for free, and for the enjoyment of the hobby. I am quite sure that were you to volunteer to be equipment chair, we would all appreciate all the hard work, record keeping and extra time and effort you would put forth in keeping it all straight, but since you don't have time to attend many meetings and can apparently only find enough time to complain about how you have a right to use things your membership fees might have purchased, I don't expect that to happen.

The leadership team has discussed the option of only loaning equipment after a deposit has been made, which would be at least half of whatever the equipment is worth. We felt that would be enough of an amount that people would be more apt to keep track of it and return it. Then, if it disappeared, we still had at least half to replace it. I, myself, feel that is a viable option, even now, however, since it wasn't me personally that you felt the need to slam, and the fact that I have none of the equipment, I will leave it up to those who do.

I think Tonya and the rest of the leadership team are doing great. Just gotta throw some props to my girl Tonya!

I have 2 clamps. Tonya told me to hold onto them until a meeting or until someone needed them. I'm currently deployed, but I can have my wife take them to Tonya to relay them to those in need. I was told only to return them to her for accountability reasons, but it can be done easily. Tonya, pm me and I'll work out a way to get them to you.

Okay let me address the clamp questions first. Yes I bought them "WE" payed for them as a whole. Yes I have personally used them in tank moves and there were more than 2 sets. Yes it is a right as a club member to use the club's equipment , just like any other club ran program. It has been posted in previous years about the club benefits on the MyComas web page. I was unaware that what person had the clamps was confidential information , because I guess nobody else has seen the clubs equipment change hands on the forums countless of times.

Now if the membership list was lost. How is this in any way my fault? Why should you assume I didn't pay if you know the list got lost? Lastly I guess it's once again my fault that I didn't see a post that you made in a certain week that was probably bumped to the 2nd or 3rd page within a day if nobody responded to the thread.

What does the $25.00 dollar amount have anything to do with my post. I was using the items to prove I was a payed member. I never said I felt like my $25 was the issue. Regarding the canceled check or receipt and who is to blame? I would say WHOEVER LOST THE LIST! I was unaware I needed to keep a copy of my receipt for membership into the club but thanks for pointing that out , because I'm sure you can find many members that have their receipt 8 months after the fact.

I've said what I had to say on how I felt about the situation. Obviously your on the other side of the fence and see it a little differently. That's fine we are both entitled to are opinion.

I can see everyone sees things differently from their perspective. I dont understand how records were lost but regardless in the past I personally never kept my reciept of payment because we were issued club tags that showed our name and year issued. Just wondering if these are still being given to paid members? Seems like this would cut down any confusion. I have been so busy for the past 8 months building my house that I haven't been able to attend any of the meeting. Where are the meetings being held? I do need to renew my membership.

First off I am Tonya's husband Eric. I have never written any posts on here or for that matter I don't post on any sites. But when my wife showed me the post you wrote, I feel I need to comment. I can not figure why you feel you need to come after my wife when she was thrown into this position because of someone quitting and there was no one else. I don't know you but did you volunteer? I see her every weekend spending hours working on things for this club. You have no idea the emails, the letters and such she sends out to hopeful sponsors. She is out to make this club one that you and the other members can be proud of. She is trying to pick up the pieces of a club that was in disarray. When this came up about your membership she talked with people and was trying to find out the status on it. The clamps that you are referring to were loaned out , I know. She is trying to keep the clubs equipment together and not lost or forgotten about, so she just wants to verify the people inquiring about it. Would you allow a stranger come to your house and borrow your mower? I don't know the whole thing about the club functions and such but I do know the hard work she and the other club leaders put into it every week, while it may be just a hobby to you, it has turned into a second job for her and I for one feel she is doing one hell of a job. So the best thing for you to do is to quit whining and maybe try to work with her and the other leadership. This is supposed to be a hobby and for fun, but these attacks on people are just insane. What is going to happen is, you are going to cause her to not want any part of this and then the club will be starting all over once again. As she and others have tried to inform you the person that was in charge of the records at the drive meeting is no longer part of the club and records did not get kept too well. Tonya and others are trying to get this rectified. I believe they posted something on this site about responding about membership. Maybe some helpful suggestions and offering to help would be more appropriate than this whine session. Feel free to send any other comments my way.

Well said Crimson.

I am a paid member and I have been busy with life and such. I have not received my name badges for 4 memberships, However I see fit not to whine about it.

When I get time I will be back to the meetings and get my badges, on a side note Tonya you are doing a heck of a JOB!!!

The use of the club's "œstuff" whether it be books, par meter or glass clamps is for club members only. As I told you via PM, neither the current secretary nor I have you on our membership roster and IF you had any questions regarding your membership to please contact the secretary/membership chair. It was realized after the membership drive meeting that records were missing so a COMAS directory sticky was created back in January of this year to sort it all out.

I have 3 sets of glass clamps. I was told on Friday from a former member the club at one time had at least 6 sets. I recently found out 2 sets were thrown away because they were leaking. To prevent things from disappearing there is now an equipment checkout agreement. Unfortunately, all the clamps are checked out. Do you a need to know who has them? No. Only when they were due to be returned and I gave you that information.

As stated in an older thread I never wanted to be President. With John Gill's hastily resignation I chose to step up and asked this members of the club be patient while we figured this out. Although we have had some glitches I feel the current leadership team has done well. And with continued support we will continue to do well.

Club elections are in November. Show support of your club by joining the LT.

Eric I would take more time responding to your post but as you stated yourself , your not a member and don't have much knowledge of club functions.

Name badges are still being issued with the new COMAS logo designed by Lauren (laurenmf2002). Generally meetings are held at the UCO atrium, but the last two meetings were hosted in club members homes.

Respectully,

Respectfully,

Ya Tonya I'll let my post speak for itself on whether or not I payed my dues at the January meeting like I sent you in a pm , which I guess you ignored or didn't feel the need to respond. I don't know what other proof I can supply to prove I payed so for you to sit there and say I'm not a payed member is frankly insulting me by calling me a liar. Fact is I didn't lose the membership list but I'm being told I need to prove I'm a member to use the club's equipment.

This equipment has never been an issue in the past on who had what. Paul never seemed to have a problem with equipment changing hands on the forum as long as he knew who had it.

As for whether or not you wanted to be President. You did accept the role as VP , which duties are to take over as President if something should happen to the active President. I'm not saying I don't respect that commitment to the club , which I have stated in previous posts. I feel like were beating a dead horse though bringing up this old subject.

It is also the club's right to revoke membership as well, If I were President and on the direct leadership staff, I would vote to have you removed even if you were paid.

Brian, I respect your opinion but it is time for you to cease and desist. You can throw Paul's name around all you want but this is a new leadership group that was voted on by members of this group. If you don't like it, feel free to leave or better yet, hang around and vote in November and volunteer for a leadership role.

Wow really? Your going to vote to remove someone that is expressing their problems with you in a civil matter? Is this club not a democracy , last I checked it was. I guess it is a good thing your not on the leadership staff , because you would just boot anyone that disagreed with you. I think they have a name for that type of government....Ohh ya I remember its communism!

You obviously don't respect my opinion you just said in your first paragraph you would rather boot me out then handle the problem! I leave you the same option feel free to leave if you don't want to see me voice my opinion about a problem. You can bet I'll be voting in November and I'm sure many others will as well from seeing the attitudes of the leadership team here.

you can kick someone out for voicing an opinion? i know Brian came off a little rough with his comment but he does have a right to voice his concern, even if it could have been more tactful. just my 2 pesos. btw, what is paul doing these days? lol

I am Tonya`s third cousin from her aunts sisters side. I did not vote for her back in November, because she did not straighten her hair that day. I am however overwhemed with joy that she is leading the way and not you Brain. My guess is that you will still renew your membership next year just for the raffle and never be heard from till you want something. Than again, you wont be missed if you dont. See you at the next family reunion Tonya!
