Disappointed with my Radion

Installed a Radion over my tank 5 days ago. I was really excited, as the program I loaded looked great and the corals were responding quite well.
Suddenly, two hours ago, the light died. I've tried everything I could find on the net, but no soap. I guess I'll be calling Ecotech tomorrow. This is very disapponting for such a pricey piece of equipment, and from what I see on the net, this happens often. We'll see what they have to say. I hear that their customer service is good.
 
Definately, give customer service a call. I'm pretty sure they will take care of you. Sorry to hear what happened. I have (3) and am very satisfied.
 
Ecotech has the best customer service I have ever experienced. I had a dry side go out on an MP10. I emailed and within 12 hours I had a response. I then had responses every 2-3 hours. A week later I had a new dry side in my hand free of charge. Great service. If I could afford the Radion I would have one in a second. I know I'm about to try out their new line of glues.
 
Ecotech Radions. Keep me in the loop, Im saving money to buy a pair for my 75 gallon. I want to have the whole random weather effect in my tank.
 
They will take care of you, no problem. Sucks that it went out and no its not common. They have sold a bunch of units and have only had a handful of issues afaik. Their customer service is 2nd to none. Your in good hands.
 
Regardless of price, nothing is made perfect with every single unit. A example is like BMW, you think every car that leaves there factory never has one problem? Humans and machines make mistakes. Just because its expensive doesn't mean that its supposed to be 100% perfect all all costs. You will get taken care of. Don't worry. Good Luck!

And that is after it burnt half your house down.

Its nice to be taken care of and part of why they have been so successful.
 
Now I am REALLY disappointed. Eith I am doing something rediculously wrong, or this light doesn't work either. This really sucks. $750, two lights, and I'm staring at a dark tank.

What did they send you?? Just the light module??

When the ballast is plugged is the little Green LED on the side of the ballast lit?? Indicating it is ON??

They did send the light only, because the green light on the driver unit was lit. I'm beginning to think that the driver is the issue however. We'll see what they say when I call them later this morning.
 
Let us know what they say please. I have 2 of them and love them. I'm just curious how they handle issues.

Got my new power supply last night and neither light works yet. BUT.... I have to say that the cusotmer service at Ecotech is second to none and they are determined to get me up and running as quickly as possible.
