I think I can make you feel better, or atleast sulk together. About 6 weeks ago my parents went away and my brother decides to swap his 55G Cichlid tank to a used 90G. Mind you, he already has a 125G in his bedroom on the second floor. So this is two tanks, 215G on a second floor. So we make the swap easy enough, his tank is running with 5 cichlids in it. I go to the bathroom which is the adjacent room, and all of a sudden I hear a huge crash and 90 gallons of water falling from the tank. The bottom of the tank completely gave out, all the water flooded his carpeted room. By the time I could run downstairs to get buckets, towels, etc. water was pouring out of all 5 highhats in the kitchen (just under his bedroom). Go to check the finished basement, styrofoam ceiling panels are getting waterlogged and falling to the floor. So, after ATLEAST 14 hours of dumping buckets, wringing out towels, and having two shopvacs going at the same time, we were left with a kitchen ceiling that needed 4 pieces of sheetrock replaced, two rooms needed to be shampood, and I had to replace a few styrofoam ceiling panels for the basement. Believe it or not, I had it all fixed before my parents got home, which was 2 days later. Fortunately, this was a fresh water tank otherwise there could have been much more severe damage.
So, learn from the mistakes. And from now on, I WILL TEST ALL USED TANKS WITH WATER OUTSIDE BEFORE SETTING THEM UP ON THE SECOND STORY OF A HOUSE!
