Disaster strikes zoas! Help!

FLricordia

In Memoriam
The last zoas I got were a large colony of RPE. On the Colony of 200+ were about 30-50 that would never open. I didn't think anything about it. A week and 1/2 later the whole colony is dead- fungas and melting-when I got home from work. I pulled them out though there was much fouling in the tank-20 cube.
I noticed tonight that other zoas that were near this colony are not opening and there are a few polyps that look like they are melting also. There are also 2 FL ricordias that are above where the RPE were. One I noticed looks like it has a melted spot on the side and the other looks sickly.
Any ideas what might be going on and what I should do? I looked under a strong loop I use to view my slides, but couldn't see anything on the RPE colony (snails, bugs, etc.) before I tossed it.
Can't get picks as my host site is canceled right now. There is nothing to see even if I could post pics though, only unopened polyps.
Do I need to make up a dip and pull ever coral and dip them? I have rics, zoas and shrooms. No shrooms near where the RPE were seem to be affected. Thanks for any help.

WoW I don't know what to tell you i've never had anything like that happen to softies :( How are your params checking out? These things are so hardy I am sure they are fine but its a good thing to check. Also, could anything weird have gotten into the tank? Chemicals, metals etc?

It is just devastating you have my sympathies :(

Thanks. Everything that was not in close proxiimity to the RPE is doing great. Opening large and full. Water quality has not changed any and no chemicals in the room. Door always stays shut and room has its own air system.

Any physical contact between the corals?
No, just close. Water tests fine.
Snowreefer-All the other corals are doing great except those that were close to the colony. Doesn't have anything to do with the water. Only the corals that were near by.

I have spotted tiny, white spiral-shelled snails on the glass and on a few on the stalks of the zoas. Don't know what these are or if they might have anything to do with.

might be some kind of infection.. sometimes palys do that after getting harvested from the wild... IMO, it's a stress issue on the corals.. if not caught in time, it will spread very fast and it's really hard to stop.. I've lost couple of decent frags couple of months ago from this incident..

That's what I am thinking. It is odd that only the colony died out quickly and a few corals around it were infected. So far it doesn't look like anything else has been infected. I am keeping watch. Dipping would be a major tank break-down as most of my zoas are attatched to at least 60% of the rock in the tank.
I have removed all that seem to have been infected. Still no sign of nudi or any other bug except for the white snails, which have vanished now that lights are on.
