Thank you. Does it seem to be doing ok to you? I mean im fairly new to this and I believe it is doing well. but it seems the he gets restless and moves around the tank. He's in a 72g BF and I only have the 2 clowns, and a bi-color angel. I 'm waiting on another powerhead to circulate the water better. Do you think that might have something to do with it? Thanks again for your help. I appreciate it.

Doesn't look too bad.

What lights do you have?

What are the current water parameters--- with numbers.

How long has the tank been set up?

Something isn't right -- otherwise it wouldn't be moving, but it doesn't look like anything is wrong with it. Answer the above questions and we can go from there.

I have 2 metal halide's
I need to get a test kit, but SG is 1.026
I recently upgraded from a 30 gal that was set-up for 2yrs and i used all the sand, water and live rock from that set-up. I think I dont have enough flow. could that be a reason for it to move around? I only have one hydor koralia 2 right now Im waiting on the second one that should be here in the next 3 days.

I have not seen this color mix much before, is this pretty rare?

jdwreefer, you have a long tentacle (Macrodactyla doreensis) anemone there. The one you have is quite bleached and with time and proper lighting and water conditions will become a deep purple color. It should be kept in a deep sand bed (4-5 inches) of fine aragonite sand. If you don't have a deep sand bed in your tank, you can get a tupperware container, let the anemone attach to the bottom, fill the container with sand and place some liverock strategically in front of the tupperware so the container is concealed from sight. If that species isn't in a deep sand bed, it will continually move and eventually fail.

Looks like your perculas took to the anemone, though LTA are not a natural host for A. percula. Assuming you have bright lights and high quality water, the anemone should completely recover. It's best to target feed a couple of times per week until it's darkened up. Pea size pieces of fresh shrimp (like you would find in the seafood dept. at the grocery store), squid, krill, scallops (also fresh from the seafood dept.) would be good food choices.

Keep us posted.

Thank you for the advice garygb. The anemone has gotten a bit darker since I got it.. That picture was taken when I put it in the tank and it had just got in to the lfs about a day before. It is doing very well and has picked a spot on the sand that it must like because it has not moved. The percs and a pair of porcelane crabs are hosting it. everyone seems happy.
