Disease diagnosis from postmortem pictures

I lost a fish tonight that has been in my tank for over a year.

Looking for some help to determine whether this was disease related and if I have to be concerned about my other fish.

He surprisingly does not look as thin as I would have expected considering I have not seen him eat for a month.

Hard to say from the picture, but this particular species is very difficult to keep in captivity.
