Wow, cool looking critter. But pretty sure we don't have those in Alaska. My first thought was "Bet my Cichlids would love those!". Any bugs I find in the house go in the tank. Especially when I still had a school of Red Eye tetras. Those guys were like hollywood piranas when a mosquito hit the water. My saltwater fish don't seem to recognize terestrials as food though.

I've seen them here before.

I kept one of those large, I mean LARGE, centipedes as a pet when I was younger. You want to talk about creepy!! That thing was fast, and mean. Big fangs :eek2:

Alright, first of all you all have to stop posting pitures of them. It makes my skin crawl. I cant even look directly at it.

Secondly, I try to kill any I see. I've heard they help kill other bugs, but theyre bugs too. Bugs to solve a bug problem doesnt make much sense to me. I'm too much of a baby to get close so I spray them with raid, windex, and shaving cream. The only other bugs weve ever had a problem with in that house is ants, and compared to these demons I freaking love ants.

They are harmless. If you really don't want them around pick up a couple NO PEST strips at the local hardware store and drop them in the area you think they are coming from. We usually put the no pest strip in some sort of contaier with a few holes to make sure animals/people don't come in contact with them, just follow directions on the box... That should keep them away from the area you are working as it repels them.

Even after you spray them with the first two, they still try to limp away. The shaving cream keeps them in place.

You would just love my parents house in Oahu.. You might just resort to a shotgun..

Almost nothing scares me.. except the foot long centipedes at her house.... you think those guys are quick... omg..

I had unknowingly walked around on her lawn barefoot for the better part of a week.. with no cares. then I decided to take a flashlight out the last night and counted no less than 5 of them, big ones, within a fifteen minute period snaking their way through the grass and planters. Her house was infested.

Not to mention her centipedes have been reported to cause life long problems in some of people they have bitten, I have met a few... they are well known over in Hawaii..

She has since taken measures to reduce them.
