Disney Tank Burst

ATM built the tank behind the bar for sure.

We went there and just hung out at the bar last year. One of the waiters was in the hobby and we spoke to him and his girlfriend for about an hour.

Not sure who built the other tanks though...

Don't have anything concrete, but the panels were manufactured by Reynolds Polymer. Butch is now their AZA rep and spent the last day or two in Orlando checking the seams. Obviously the failure wasn't in the panel but in the seam. They are currently investigating whether the bonding agent used came from a bad batch.

Said by the patron at the table next to "the" tank, "Hey, this is not the fish I ordered. But I have to admit it REALLY does look fresh."

Why does the broken tank make Disney people, slobs?

because they have cash to throw in the street.
They could at least pay for upgrades every .....what(?) year/6 mos?

broken/feathered/splintered acrylic is sloppy.
You want trashy tanks like the TV shows? That is what you get. Nobody is perfect --GOT IT
but when you take in $56 a person and thousands flood your theme park every day ,the big "D" puts themselves in parallel with a movie like BLACKFISH .......that makes you a slob....

what about that does not compute ?

Ahhhhh, now your location does compute!:crazy1:

Reading this thread, I'll provide some of my input since there seems to be some misinformation.

It should probably be noted that this is in downtown Disney, which is totally different from the Disney parks. TREX is owned by Landry's, which owns a bunch of other restaurants, including Rainforest Café. Even though downtown Disney is technically Disney property, any decisions about the tank is falls back on Landry's; It has nothing to do with Disney!

I've been to Rainforest Café once before & it just ain't my thing. I only went for a rehearsal dinner. All you hear a bunch of monkey/ape sounds that are very distracting. Yes, it's always nice to see fish tanks but I hate seeing FO, & more specifically the fake coral inserts. I don't believe the fish at these restaurants are as healthy as they could be either.

On a side note, if you've been to Epcot, they've got a few saltwater tanks including an SPS cylinder, & seahorse tank/cuttlefish tank (not counting their big tank tons of fish/sharks). Discount some of the majanos in some of the tanks, it appears to be taken care of very nicely. The fish are certainly very health too. Being a passholder, I go every few months.

What computes is your amount of misinformation you are spouting lol
$56 ?? Uhhh Disney tickets are almost $100 a person...are you referring to the cost of eating per person at that resturant? And like it was previously stated it is located in downtown Disney and run by a seperate company....ranting about something you don't really know much about just makes you sound arrogant...my .02 cents

I think we are all forgetting the real purpose of this thread its the amount of money it costs to get into a Disney theme park not a tank that failed! or wait I`m sorry that's backwards......Hey maybe for you Jesse Ventura types maybe it was setup by the government and Disney World to get you all to talk about it, then subliminally you will want to take your whole family to Disney World.......
