Dispar Anthias (fish sex)

Well, Here is an update. sorry no photos. Over the last few weeks I have noticed some changes in the three anthias I bought thru Rhett. we ahve determined thru photos that I have 2 males and 1 female. the males have settled into a "pecking Order" with one the Alpha Male and one Subordinate male. the Alpha proudly displays a bright red fin and has a very peachy color. the Sub male is the same color, but hides alot compared to the Alpha who si ALWAYS out. the female is much more of a drab pinky peach. compared to the male she has a much skinnier head and overall features. (the males are noticably more meaty in the head) well, tonight I noticed a bit of strange behavior between the female and the alpha male. he was right by her. chasing her around the tank and then they caught up, he would go sideways to almost upside down below her. all the while with his dorsal fin at full plumage. he caught her in a corner and they seemed to "dance" for a bit. Hmmmmmm....

if this above is true, then that makes two mated pairs in my tank. the GSM's and now the dispar anthias. also, Momma GSM is displaying a bit of aggression right now towards this male. from across the tank. (she never leaves her anems unless eating, so this is odd as well. she must hear his wispering sweet nothings into his sweetie's ear! LOL
:dance::dance::dance:

Sounds like we have a mommy on the way! Maybe you will get lucky and see the end results of that mating!!!! Keep us informed!! Nice to see you on the board! Leah

Pics my man! I've been thinking about getting some for my 65, but I don't know if that'll be good.
