Ok, here is the deal. I recently had to move my aquarium to a friends house because I have to tent for termites. The apex was working great before the move. I have only one eb8 contected. After the move the display module stopped working. I still could connect via ethernet. I can see and control all outlets but no display. I ended up removing the apex and put my ac jr back on until this can get worked out. Any ideas! I am also running a mac.

Depending on how long you have had the apex and the firmware you where running, and if you updated the display firmware it sounds like you may have corrupted firmware in the display; easily corrected if that is it (earlier firmware had a bug where display could end up correct if the power was disconnected at just the right time).

The controller is most likely working just fine. Connect things back up, including the display and visit the modules page. Select the display and choose update firmware, then commit the request. It takes about 1 minute so be patient. After the update you may need to disconnect the display and reconnect it after a few moments.

If you hadn't updated the Apes firmware itself then now might be a goof time to do so, especially if you had older firmware running; remember to save your configuration just in case.

Thanks I am working till wednesday and will try when I get home. I also plan on trying to call Neptune. I think I might have screwed things up. Yesterday after it happen I accessed via the web and I noticed there were two displays being shown. So what an Idiot would do is what I did. I deleted both in hopes the controller would recognize the display. And it did not. Do we will see what happens, thanks

That didn't mess you up - if you delete the active display, it will add it back as soon as you reboot. I agree with Ken, reload the firmware to the controller AND the display (will say SW REV 009 after its complete) and you should be good to go.

Could be a faulty backlight. That just happened to me called Neptune got an RMA sent it in had the unit back in a week. Not a huge deal as I could still access everythign from the web. I was pretty pleased in the response and repair time. I'm guessing the unit spent more time travelling than anything else since it was round trip from Ohio to Cali.

I have the same problem with my display. I updated to the latest released firmware in the hope that it would correct the issue but it did not. Whenever I try to update the display firmware the controller would reboot like it was updating but the version number does not update to the latest. Thinking that the display wasn't updating I contacted Curt @ Neptune and got back this reply:

"Just ignore the old message as the firmware in your display is locked and can't be corrupted. The only change from revision 7 to rev 9 is to implement this lock feature so that firmware can't be corrupted."

I think he is saying that the version number in the controller for the display won't be updated with the update. Unfortunately, updating the firmware made no difference to the brightness of my controller (which is very dark but I can read it in a dark room)

I emailed him yesterday, and he got back to me with this reply,
Hi,
The display issue is likely caused by corrupt firmware and can be fixed in
the configuration->module setup web page. Just update the firmware for the
display from this web page. You may need to unplug and then plug in the
AquaBus cable of the display to get the update started. Also if you don't
have the latest version of the firmware in your controller then I definitely
recommend that you download and install it. It can be downloaded from the
support->downloads section of our website.

Curt

I am still at work so I can't try to update the firmware for the display yet. If that doesn't work I don't have the faintest idea on updating the firmware for the controller. I run a MAC and have mono, but that is about the extent of my knowledge. Either I will call them and have them walk me through the steps or I will just send it to them UPS. Luckly I only live 4 hours from San Jose so UPS take a day to get there max.
