Disposal of water after water changes

I've been dumping mine in the front lawn and haven't noticed any changes in the grass. It's still green and grows too fast, and keeps me busy with the mower every weekend! :(

maybe...could eventually lead to saltier water from your well...but the salt put on roads in colder areas is a bigger concern for the most part...but that has devastated watersheds, caused neighborhoods to have non-potable water...

I've been curious about this too. I dump it into the gravel in my driveway. I don't want weeds growing there anyway.
I can't flush it (although that would be sweet) because I have a septic system and eventually all of the saltwater will end up in the yard.
Hoping to hear some great ideas on this.

I live in BFE also. I dump mine in to the septic and have good growth in the area the water ends up. It depends on the size of your system and how much water you are dumping at a time. I have a 2500 gallon system so 30 to 40 gallons a week is not that bad.

It's safe to have a water softener on a septic system, correct?

I don't have a softener system currently, but I figure that these things dump LOTS more salt in the septic than the comparatively small amount of reef salt I consume/discard in my septic monthly..

Though, I have two full residential septic systems w/ leach fields connected to my home, as I purchased and tore-down my neighbor’s house (was too close to my house, a dump, etc) then connected the septic systems in parallel.

IME, I have seen no ill effect dumping my 30-44 gallons of saltwater in my septic tank(s) monthly.

My water softener waste line is sent to my sump pit. The sump pit is connected to the drainage system that rings my septic field. I was told by the plumber who installed the system these were separate systems. He also said salt in the septic is not a good thing. I have been dumping my used tank water into the sump pit along with the water softner waste. I have 200ft of corrugated pipe the perimeter drain flows to. Never saw a problem with the salt in that system. All the grass still grows there as well.

I would think that salt in a septic field would kill the bacteria that assist with breaking down the waste...

that was kinda what my septic guy was saying. He was not sure, but it could not be doing any favors for the bacteria
