Disposing of old water..

Where are you guys disposing of your old salt water from water changes?

I have stainless sinks - should I avoid dumping down the drain? Any ill effects on grass?

Eventually dumping salt water on grass will kill the grass and could possible make it difficult for anything to grow back. I just pour mine down my shower drain.

I dump mine right into the basement sump and it is pumped outside--it does leave a burn on the grass-but this year I am going to replace the spot with a little bit of fancy gravel

I do use the stainless sinks to clean skimmer cups and powerhead and they are ok

Yep, I just pump mine out of my tank and directly down the sink drain. Then pump my "fresh" saltwater in from the garage.

I have a spot on the side of the house that likes to grow weeds, I have starting dumping the saltwater there hoping that at somepoint it will stop them from growing.

i dump down the toilet in the basement

The more I read that sentence the funnier it gets.

I run it out the bathtub drain now as we are in the city. In our new home we are building that is acreage, I'll probably run it into a gravel area outside that we want to keep weed free.

I pour it on the weeds in my gravel driveway and other places I don't want grass growing. I have a separate septic and leach field, so I'm not sure how good it would be for me to dump it down the drain.

I am glad I am not the only one who gets isolated to a remote bathroom on the other side of the house.. lol

Ohh yeah. I dump my old salt water down the sink, toilet, or bathtub.. What ever I make it to.. I just make sure I follow it with a good rise. If you dont rise it, it will start to rust the stainless (happened to one of my sinks).

I would have thought your salt water went right to where it came from--the Bering Sea??
