Dissapearing Zoas??

So I left on Thursday for Disneyland and just came back last night thank god all my fish are alive and all my corals.I have a autofeeder that was feeding once a day(assuming it was working I tested it before I left). Although I had this nice piece of LR with about 50 or so zoas on it.. 15 of them were BamBam oranges.. Well needless to say someone decided they were hungry and ate all the zoas off the rock.. they left three green palis though..LOL.. At first I was thinking it is my gold spotted rabbitfish-Ive been told they like softies but as far as I know I haven't had any issues before.. I did add a Mimic Tang the weekend before leaving and Ive been noticing him picking at that piece of LR alot tonight.. So I pulled out 33 zoa colonies and threw them all in my QT I left a large colony of some green ones I can care less about in there trying to bait whichever fish it is... SO it looks like I'll be setting up a new all zoa tank=)I like both of the fish too much to get rid of them UNLESS they were to start picking at my chalices or SPS..they whoever it is gets kicked out..

My toby puffer eats all my zoas and I have caught my sailfin tang nip at my zenia and zoas too. I no longer have zoas my toby is too cute so he won!

Nice, apparently the word "F I S H" is getting replaced with Wreath. Ah well. Some tangs, especially purples, and most of the rabbits, are known zoa munchers. The gold spot is the first culprit on the list. I don't think I've heard of mimic's doing it, but it's certainly possible.

yeah Im remembering that some of the zoas were closed up in the tank previously for no apparent reason maybe something had already been nipping at them..but since I was feeding more they werent eaten.. I dunno..

Yeah, I had a purple in my 250 that was a model citizen. I feed HEAVILY though. When he found a new home, he apparently decided that zoas were on the menu.

its always a risk unfortunately with any fish. the lucky thing is if I do decide to pull the fish I only have like 100lbs of LR in the tank but theres now about 70 or so different frags in there still=)

I was losing zoas to a calico crab that hid under the sand bed and only came out at night. I never new I had him, he must of hitchhiked in on something while he was small.

I set a mason jar in the tank with some food in the bottom leaned against some rock...in the morning he was in there....pretty big too.

ewww I had one of those crabs once. Cept this little bold guy never bothered to hide unless I moved towards him. He would sit there and eat right infront of me baiting me to try to catch him. But in the end a small glass with food in was his downfall he just couldnt resist a free meal.
