What are you guys using for a diver camera ? I am looking at the new sealife dc1400, I used to have the old model but didn't close the battery lid properly and it leaked, otherwise it was great.

What are u using ? And what do you think about it ?

Not your typical "camera", but I like using my Gopro Hero3+. Great camera with a variety of applications and very durable.
If you really aren't on a budget and really like underwater photography. I would get a DSLR and an underwater housing. Gets very pricey quickly but will get you some great photographs.
Never used a sealife before but read a couple reviews and they seem decent. To me I would rather get something with a good housing even for a digital camera, for casual photography.
If you don't want to break the bank I would go for a GoPro. Has everything you need. But you'll most likely record video more than taking pictures.
Good thing is that nowadays there's plenty of options out there.

+1. I've used different cameras and housings over time. All I use now is a GoPro. You really can't beat the bang for the buck and super clear hi def results of both pictures and video. Also look into a red filter for it. You need a red filter below about 30'.

Check out backscatter.com. Lots of different camera packages and they can help you build one that's right for your budget and needs. I use a GoPro Hero 3 Black right now, and it works great. I may move to a DSLR setup down the road, but as mentioned above, it can get really pricey really quickly.

+1 on the Backscatter filters. I have the Flip 3.1 and usually have the Dive (20-50 ft) and the Deep (50+ ft) on it. Around 40 feet or so really don't need any color correction.

I stopped using filters and picked up a video light (Sola Video 2000). Makes all the difference in the world, and you don't have to mess with color correction (much) when editing. Attached the GoPro to a handle with tray with the light on flexible arm (again, through BackScatter). Super easy to use.

Sure thing. Here's a short clip from Maui last year when they had the huge settlement of Blacklip Butterflyfish:

This was shot with a Sola 800 which I retrofit; the Sola Video 2000 is much brighter.

It is amazing how the technology has evolved since I was doing this. Incredibly clear and colorful.
