Dive Trip?

Hi all,
I was thinking about possible activities for all you Tucson/ Sierra Vista reefers, and wanted to know if there was any interest in a club dive trip? I'm an instructor, and the owner of the dive shop I work for often lets me use his facilities and offer either free or deeply discounted instruction during the winter and spring months (since he knows most people will be hooked anyway and end up blowing their kids college fund in his shop on shiny new toys), and will sometimes allow group discounts on the trips. I was thinking of asking to use the pool in early March, and going on a trip sometime in April. The water starts warming up enough by then that I can get in. I'm a total sissie about cold water.

WOW Olin that is one gracious offer; sounds like a great opportunity to get certified!! I paid a bunch to get mine but it did come in a package deal to San Carlos MX.

I am in for sure!!! I got certified last April, got the SCUBA bug as bad as I got the reef bug... Did dives 22 - 26 in Hawaii in Sept. Can't wait to be back in the water. Jon, looks like a good time for you to get your fins wet again?? I would love to dive with you after all the stories you have told me!!

I guess John forgot to mention..... he is selling this. I can vouch for the quality of his stuff, I bought his other set. Wonderful gear the BC looked almost brand new. I had to replace the battery on the dive computer and had the octopus serviced but other then that if has worked wonderfully for 26 dive so far!!

John, I may fit in your gear. hehehe. Katherine and I may be interested depending on the dates. She has spring break in March, (last week). If we could have one of these events at that time, we would love to go.

Where is the dive going to be?

Wow, nice to see so many are interested! Diving would probably be in San Carlos Mexico. Makes for a good 3 day weekend. The reefs aren't as glorious as the Carribean or indo-pacific, but it has the second-highest species diversity in the world. BTW, that MK20/G250 regulator John is selling is awesome- a total workhorse. I used those on technical dives to 400 feet! They last forever!

Thanks Ed and Olin, the gear is almost brand new about 5 dives, took up Sky Diving. I know what you mean Olin, had a Mark V 2nd in the Yuccatan, adjust to what ever depth(usualy around 90' to 150', I didn't say 150', lol, max depth is 130"). The Mark V was discontinued, the G-250 took its place and is set up the same but tons lighter. Thats where I got the OWSI in 1984, Open Water Scuba Instructor.

Geez Ed, I don't know, the rest of us might be bummed out with you gloating the whole time...I have a few dates I'm looking at, just waiting to hear back on if they will be OK with the shop. Probably Late April, Early May for the trip, with the class probably the weekend before. I'll let everyone know ASAP so we can coordinate a weekend that works for all.
