Divers Den Purchasing ?

What is the best way to purchase those "hot" fish from DD? For example, the other day DD put up for sale a pair of Bellus Angels that was gone immediately. Is it simply the luck of the draw and the person who sees the new fish posted at the correct time, finds and clicks on the fish and completes the purchase first or is there some other strategy involved?

Oh and if the new parent of the Bellus Angels is reading this, please print this post and choke on it :furious:...... Kidding- congrats and enjoy!

They post at 5pm Central time (I think it's Central, anyway). That's 3 pm for me and probably 6 pm for you. If I see something I may want on their email alert in the morning I get on at around 2:55 and refresh constantly until 3 pm when the fish appear. That way I can have a look at what I'm interested in and snap it up if I decide I want it. :)

Email alert and then you need to have a account setup thru them so you can sign in and purchase immediately

I have my wife log in and hit refresh often until the post. The fish and corals go up on the site before they send the email. Keep that in mind. WHen I picked up my black tang there were 3 other people trying for it on here that I know of but my wife is a Ninja.

How do you pay? I use my Paypal account which is super fast. Literally a couple clicks and it's mine. Signing in ahead of time makes it even faster.

If you use an RSS Reader (Google Reader, Feedly, Reeder, etc), it updates daily, to-the-minute with every single new item on DD (and many more publications).

You can install an RSS notification plugin onto your browser that will update you to the second new items are published to the site (as long as you're at your computer).

Thanks for all the input. Yesterday while on vacation and not by a computer I called and was able to lock in a female bellus angel. Love the great service at LA.

Traveling today so no shot at the crosshatch or scribled angel - good luck to anyone interested and willing to likely pay a hefty penny.

pia has a smaller one

Thanks - looking for 1 about 1/2 the size - about 4 in. which seems like a very big improbability. My other alternative would be a male blue throat which I also like.

Although you mention PIA - how are they as compared to LA/DD and Blue Zoo. For that matter, how is Blue Zoo as well? I have only ordered from LA/DD so who would you order from with confidence?

Thx again
