Divers Den questions

I have been having issues with the live stock from the LFS near me. So I think my next purchase will be from divers den, because for the extensive QT system they have. I just want to know what people have experienced with them.

Do you qt your fish from there in addition?

Have you had many issues with illness? Ich, other problems?

What is their salinity?

How are they about their 14 day promis?

Just what has been your experience. I am a little gun shy after losing two fish this week, but need to forge forward, because this si something i have wanted to do for so long.

Also, the problem might be already existing in your tank. You could have a deadly parasite and introducing fish no matter how clean, it will just get infected too.

Do you have any idea why your fish died? how long did you have it, what fish, etc?

Well, I have ordered from them probably 100 times.

I'm sure you know this, but Geaux xman raises a valid point. If you've had sick fish in your display, you may need to treat your remaining fish and leave your display fallow for awhile before adding anything new.

I've had great luck with DD, but have had an occasional loss. They've always come through on the guarantee. Great to deal with.

No happened in QT tank. DT fish area 100% healthy.

I got a pair of picassos from LADD with internal parasites that I discovered and was only able to treat because they were in QT. They were close to death by the time I figured out what was wrong with the help of the LA phone team. They made it btw.

I would definitely QT every fish from anywhere.

I have used their 14 day guarantee maybe 5 times on inverts with no issues.

IMO, LA, and DD in particular, offer the finest fish available anywhere. Their guarantee and customer service is the best of any company, in any business, that I've ever bought any thing from. Just search this site for lLve Aquaria or Divers Den. the positive comments are overwhelming.
I hope the OP isn't looking for a reason not to QT. As Dr Colliebreath points out, even DD suggests QT. As good as DD is, no business could possibly QT fish in volume and catch everything. There are many reasons to always use a QT, parasites are only one. I can never remember reading any post, from anyone, who had an unresolved problem with DD, LA, or F&S.

Not looking for a reason not to Qt. In fact just got a 40b and a new HOB filter for exactly that reason.

I don't care where the fish came from, I QT it no matter what, regardless.
You can never be too sure how healthy the fish is.

If you properly acclimate fish into your QT; does SG of 1.020 or 1.025 really matter with fish? Not in my opinion, but maybe I'm missing something.

I would assume just the time it takes to acclimate if the s.g. wasn't close together. I usually drip acclimate from my lfs for 2 to 3 hours since their s.g. is 1.015, from DD, usually 45 mins. to a little over an hour.
