Divers den wrasses

my scott's have me worried today. Both of them have a clearish white spot on the right fin. both of them have it in the same exact spot. Coincidence, ich or over worried reefer???

Very small speck.

They both are eating like hogs. Last time I saw ich the fish didn't eat anything

Depends on the fish. I've seen fish infected with crypto who carry on as if nothing has happened, while others completely stop eating upon infection. Are yours in QT?

One of them doesn't have the spot on its fin today but it has a new one down on his back. They still are acting completely normal and eating great. So hopefully I'm just over paranoid and it is nothing.

Both of them have multiple ich spots today and my tomini tang as well. All fish are still eating and acting fine. Can they all possibly beat this?

I am not a fan of "managing" crypto. Your best bet is to remove the fish for treatment in a dedicated hospital tank and leave the DT fallow for 10+ weeks. There is a sticky in the Fish Diseases section on treatment options for crypto.

I would also suggest making your own thread. Right now if someone sees this they are thinking you got the fish from DD, which is not the case.

I bought the harlequin tusk :o I've been searching for an Aussie tusk locally and online for about 4 months and haven't been able to find one till now. Happened to check DD at about 6:45 and there he was, so I grabbed him. :celeb2: A little bigger than I wanted at 6-3/4", but beggars can't be choosers. Hopefully he doesn't get too much bigger than that.

No, no snails. I used to keep small (2-50 gal) reefs about 15 years ago, but when I got back in the hobby last year I went with a large FOWLR specifically so I could keep some fish like this that don't play well with inverts. My cleanup crew consists of a lawnmower blenny and some sand sifting gobies, all large enough to avoid being eaten by their tankmates. No inverts. And I have to say, after a recent ich outbreak due to a puffer that was stressed out by his new tankmates and wouldn't eat for a couple weeks, I have come to appreciate the ability to dose Cupramine in my DT. Works like a charm.

That would be nice. I have been contemplating turning my 220 mixed reef to a fowlr and using a smaller tank as a fish less reef
