DivingTheWorld's Custom Leemar 80g Rimless Reef

Looking good Mike. What kind of flows do you have?

Thanks guys!

Randy, I use two MP40's at 90% Reef Crest, Anti-Sync. It's the perfect flow for my tank. I tried a third but it was too much for the acros and my alk/cal consumption dropped.

I'm a bit slow in updating this thread, so here's an update on how the Rimless Reef is doing.

I've experimented with a CO2 scrubber for a little over 6 months, but decided to take it offline due to excessive calcium precipitation. Most of my pumps were locked up and I was going through Alk/Cal like it was top off water.

It came to a head when we were out of town for a couple weeks last month. I came home to my gallon dosing containers dry and Alk at around 6.0. Luckly, other then a little browning in a couple of my more sensitive acros I dodged a bullet. I'm looking into auto testers now and it's down to the Alkatronic and Trident. Most likely the former.

The reef is filling in nicely. I've been slowly removing my encrusting montis and focusing more on acros. Here's an updated pic I took Friday:

Looking great! I'll still have some of the corals I got from you last year. about your ALK, and Cal consumption, maybe you should look into Cal reactor. I know that space is an issue for your tank, but I think it can be done.

Thanks. Alk/Cal consumption isn't too bad now that I'm not running the CO2 reactor anymore. I use gallon containers and I go through a gallon of each about every 4 weeks. I've thought about a Calcium Reactor but I have no space left under my tank and it's in the middle of the family room so my wife would kill me if I had things sitting next to it.

I had a little space under my reactors next to my sump, but I shoved the Alkatronic under there, lol.

I keep neglecting this thread! So with the whole virus lock down thing happening, it really allows us to spend more time on our tanks. Mine has been going swimmingly and corals continue to grow. Here's some updated pics:

I'm bored at home in quarantine, so decided to take some pics of my corals. I'll post them once a day for a while or until I'm not bored anymore.
