I've been looking for some really nice SPS, just can't seem to find many here in the Austin Tx area.

May I ask what your lighting is and other parameters. Yours seem to be colored up nicely.

Sure, for lighting I use an 8 bulb ATI T5 with one Reefbrite XHO blue.

Some reefers like to keep their "secret sauce" for what they dose and what they keep their parameters at. I'm an open book. I use the KISS principal and don't dose anything other than Cal/Alk. I have enough fish to keep Nitrates/Phosphates where I want them and run a little bit of HC GFO & Rox 0.8 Carbon to keep the water polished and help maintain even phosphates. So what are my parameters? Here's what I shoot for (x) as well as what my test results were recently. I try to do my full range of tests each Saturday (sometimes I get lazy...). Lately I've been testing Iodine, mostly to verify what my water changes (10%, once per week IO) are keeping it at. I don't dose it.

Ammonia 0.0
Nitrite 0.00
Nitrate 5 (5)
Phosphate 0.0184 (0.03)
Calcium 405 (400)
Alkalinity 7.56 (7.5)
Magnesium 1395 (1400)
Salinity 1.0264 (1.0264)
pH 7.9 (tested in the morning before lights on, ranged 7.86-8.17)
Iodine 0.04 (0.05)

Thank you for sharing, I've been reefing for about 8 years, and I have a large tank that is SPS dominant. My colors aren't as bright tho, as I'd like. So I really appreciate you sharing your numbers with me![emoji4]

Very nice!!

Do you know what this one is? I've had it for about 6 months, and it's turned into a really nice shade of blue..

No, there's just so many different acros in different colors and shapes. My only way to know for sure what I'm getting is to only buy named corals from vendors I trust.

such a beautiful tank!

Any advice on how and what you use to mount SPS onto the rocks?

Thank you. I use Loctite Super Glue Gel for mounting everything, frags on plugs, on rocks, etc. The only issue I sometimes have is monster turbos bulldozing them off before they encrust. Luckily they encrust pretty fast in my tank.

Thanks for the info! What is your technique? Squeeze glue out in tank or outside first then nose dive onto the rock? I just simply suck at gluing anything to my rockwork lol

I take a frag and tab/dry the base on a paper towel. I apply the glue, then stick it underwater on the rockwork and hold it there for a minute or two until it's firm enough to let go. It isn't completely solid for probably 10-15 minutes so this is the critical time to keep the turbos away. If it's a particularly difficult frag to attach (weird size or awkward location) I put some glue on my finger and spread it around on the spot I want to put the frag under water. Then before it dries, I put glue on the frag and stick it in the same spot. Glue to glue seems to bond a little stronger.
