DIY AutoTop Off Workshop (Sign up here)

Hey, what time is the show again? I am too lazy to dig through the thread, and thought I would help bump this up with a quick recap of the when, where, and what to bring note from the coordinator. Thanks Steve!

BTW - I will by hyped up on DayQuil tonight as I am just getting over a horrible cold, so if I solder my hand, don't worry - in my drug induced euphoria, I will not feel a thing.

Mihn, with as many people as it sounds like please bring what you think we can use.

Mike I know exactly how you feel, I'm recovering too though I'm almost healed..

Hey you forgot your sand I had to call Paul to come back and pick it up. The round table guys didnt want it. I can't imagine why not. lol

Thanks again STEVE, MINH, and everyone that helped last night!!! I don't see how I could have done this by my self and it was great to finally put faces with SN.

Thanks again!

Same here! Steve, I know you were not feeling well, but I am jazzed about having some new gadgets to put online. Pretty exciting stuff!

Resurrection time...

So if you now have one of these, but were not at the actual build, is there a write-up somewhere on how to operate these units?

I forgot what the flip switch was for, which outlet does what, which float switch does what, molding procedure for the holder, etc.

Thanks.

LOL. I thought there was a 'how-to' video back a few pages in this thread. Try skimming the pages for that link and see if that answers your questions. If not, there is a very detailed tutorial on aquahub on how these work.

Steve just helped me build mine... Thanks again Steve.
Here are (to the best of my knowledge... which is limited) answers to your questions.

The flip switch....
kills the power to the whole box (floats & pump) so you can do a water change.

Which outlet does what....
one is for the 9volt power source which powers the floats (on mine it is the bottom one) And the pump plugs into the other.

which float switch does what....
the lower float is the main one that controls the pump. When H2O drops below a certain level it comes on, as H2O raises the float the pump shuts off. If the lower float should fail, the second one is your back up and will keep the H2O from running over.

molding procedure for the holder....
can't help you on this one, but aquahub has the procedures and pictures to show how to mold it.

I've got a "Funman" ATO that I am no longer using as I took down that tank. It's for sale if anyone is interested. PM if you are. TIA
