sixfins, I think a lot of it depends on the media you use. If I had gone with ARM, I would have needed to plumb in a ball valve, but the Gen X is so heavy, it doesn't move with a mag2 pushing it. My first reactor was about the size you're thinking of, maybe a little taller - Marine Life Aquatics - and it came with an Eheim 1046. For that, I used ARM media.

I use a Milwaukee regulator and it came with a needle valve, solenoid and bubble counter. I bought it from this place â€"œ also got my co2 cylinder there. http://www.co2-canisters.com/ Good deals, I think.
