DIY drain on the collection cup protein skimmer?

Hello.


Is it feasible for a DIY drain on the collection cup on a protein skimmer.

If I have to travel for any length of time, I don't want to have to turn off the skimmer.

You can have auto top off to replace water and auto feeder for the fish, light timers for the lights but if there anyway to automate the skimmer collection cup?

Oh yeah, very easy to do. Just drill a hole in the bottom and thread it, thread in a hose barb fitting and your set.
